Medallion Thank You

Wal-Mart selected my school for the teachers to be the recipients of $100 each!  We needed a special thank you card for them as we are all so grateful.  Here is what I came up with--using the medallion with the middle and sentiment embossed with gold.  I hope it sufficiently expresses our thankfulness!

Christmas Stocking Die and Scored Box

One more posting from the fabulous day with my upline, Beth Ann Wilson.  This one features the Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die featured in the Holiday Mini catalog.  The top, toe and heel of the stocking were embossed using the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  And that box on the back?  It was made using the Simply Scored scoring tool.  Did you notice the cute little jingle bell on the Christmas tree?  You can buy your own here

Stitched Stockings and Silver Glimmer Paper

The silver glimmer paper is one of my favorite new products in the Holiday Mini catalog.  I love the sparkle!  This card, made with my upline, Beth Ann Wilson, also features the new stamp set Stitched Stockings and Stocking Builder punch.  The sentiment is heat embossed, while the frame around the Whisper White piece was embossed using the Simply Scored scoring tool.  My husband liked this card so much when I showed him that he thinks it should be our Christmas card this year!

Scored Happy Birthday Card

What a great birthday card!  This card uses the Simply Scored scoring tool--do you have yours yet?  There are so many fabulous projects to make with it!

We made this card during the stamping day with my upline Beth Ann Wilson.  Not only was the day great, but she has supplied me with blog updates to last for a couple of weeks, while I get used to the busy back to school schedule!  :)  Thanks again, Beth Ann!

Operation Write Home Card

This is the card that we made at the Operation Write Home event I hosted.  To honor those lives lost on 9/11, I decided to send cards to our troops through Operation Write Home.  These cards are sent blank, then soldiers can use them to send home to their loved ones.  I had some wonderful stampers attend the event and it was touching to see their support.  I sincerely hope the troops enjoy these cards and that it brightens their day to have a handstamped card to send home.  Contact me for more information, or visit the Operation Write Home website

Emboss Resist Flowers

Emboss resisting is one of my favorite stamping techniques.  Similar to the Christmas card we made in my Christmas in July Class, at Beth Ann's fun day, we stamped these flowers with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Then, using sponge daubers, we applied the ink to the paper.  The embossed flowers resisted the ink, creating the image shown.

Fun Flowers Pencil Topper

Can't give candy in school anymore?  Here is a great project for those school parties--a pencil topper flower!  The Big Shot made this flower a breeze to make.  Add a touch of ribbon and a jewel and you've got the perfect present to give as a party treat in school when you can't give candy.  Thanks again to my upline, Beth Ann Wilson, for showing me how to make these!

Candy Sticks

These fun candy sticks are another project we made with my upline, Beth Ann Wilson.  I've made these before and used to have an exact count for how many it took to fill a bag....but I don't remember now!  SU! now sells these cellophane bags used in this project.  Also just a helpful note, don't leave these in your car on a hot day or they will melt....

Napkin Holder with Spice Cake Fabric

Guess what?  Not only does the new Holiday Mini have Designer Series Paper and jumbo Designer Buttons in the Spice Cake design, but it also has FABRIC.  That's right, all you sewers out there.  Fabric!  Here is a sample of a napkin ring made using it and one of the buttons.  Wouldn't these look fantastic on your table for Thanksgiving?

Have I mentioned before what a wonderful upline I have?  After finding out at Convention that she made Founders Circle as the 72nd demonstrator in the US for the past year, she decided to reward her team for helping her get there.  So she hosted a day just for us, her team members, to make projects using new tools and techniques.  This is just one of the MANY projects we made that day.  Stay tuned to see more, and contact me, or visit my page, to learn how you can join this awesome Stampin' Up! team too!

Paper Rosette Wreath

Have you seen the new Holiday Mini?  Do you know about the new Simply Scored tool?  Here is one fantastic project to create using the Simply Scored scoring tool.
I already mentioned how much I love the new DSP Spice Cake.  It combines Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, River Rock and Very Vanilla in some beautiful patterns.  Here's a close up of a rosette made with the scoring tool.  It also features the Spice Cake Designer Buttons which coordinate with the paper.  These jumbo buttons are 1 1/2" in diameter and come in a pack of 16.

I also used some Antique Brads which added to the vintage look of the wreath.
This project was SO MUCH fun to make.  Contact me today to find out how to make one of your own!

A Stampin' Up! Birthday Party!

I was delighted to be asked to have a Stampin' Up! birthday party for a wonderful girl turning 11.  After tossing around several different ideas, we decided that each girl would get to make a journal and coordinating pen using the Beyond the Garden Designer Series paper and a book mark using the Big Shot.  I also put together goody bags for each of the girls containing a mini catalog, ink spot and marker.

The party was fabulous.  The birthday girl was sweet and her friends were all so polite and friendly.  I look forward to stamping with some of them at upcoming Stamp Camps!  ;)

Here are a few pictures of the girls (I blurred their faces because as a teacher I don't put kids' pictures on the internet without parental permission).  Each of the journals came out differently; it was fun to see their creativity!

For my journal, I used the new Spice Cake designer series paper which I LOVE.  It can be found in the new Holiday Mini here

Other Craft Show Items

Not only am I a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, but I also have a craft business, Woodsy Owl Whimsies.  We have been preparing for upcoming craft shows and I thought I would share a set of our football players and cheerleaders.  These have been customized for my hometown, (Go BU!) and we also have a set for my favorite university (Let's Go, Mountaineers!).  More pictures of our crafts can be found on my Woodsy Owl Whimsies facebook page
