Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread cookies,
On my tree,
Look so very good to me,
I will nibble on their feet,
They look like a tasty treat!

We sing this song at school, and it pops into my head every time I look at this card!  I used the Sugar and Spice Embossing Powder on the Merry Christmas sentiment, but in other versions I used gold and silver to make it brighter.

Stamps:  Christmas Greetings (retired), Scentsational Season
Inks:  Soft Suede, Versamark
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Real Red, Basic Grey, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Other:  3/8 inch stitched satin ribbon in Gumball Green, Simply Scored, Sugar and Spice Embossing Powder, Holiday Collection Framelits

Wisteria Wonder, Snowflake Soiree and Tinted Glimmer

Here is another example of coloring glimmer paper.  In the left card, I did not color the silver paper.  In the right example, I used a sponge dauber and Elegant Eggplant ink to give the glitter a slight purple tint.

Stamps:  Snowflake Soiree
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder
Paper:  Silver Glimmer Paper, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Other:  Heat Tool, Sponge Dauber

Thanks to SU! demonstrator Dawn Griffith for the inspiration for this card!

Snowflake Die with Tinted Glimmer Paper

Demonstrators receive a magazine full of ideas and inspiration, and that's where I found the idea for this card.  I LOVE the glimmer paper which comes in silver, red, and champagne colors.  We can also color the silver paper to create different shades!  On this card, I used a sponge dauber, Tempting Turquoise and Lucky Limeade inks to color the snowflakes.  You can use a heat tool to set the color, but I made this card when Hurricane Sandy had taken our electric, so it was days before I actually had power again!

Stamps:  Snowflake Soiree
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Lucky Limeade
Paper:  Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Other:  Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, heat tool, Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Big Shot

In Color Cards

After being inspired by some cards completed by a fellow demonstrator, I intended to CASE them completely.  But as is often the case with the creative process, new ideas sometimes spring up with each creation!  Although they all follow the same basic design, each one has variations.  On the Summer Starfruit card, I used the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and coordinating butterfly punch.  On the Gumball Green card, I embossed the tree with peppermint scented embossing powder.  The Midnight Muse card sports a Real Red button.  The Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals card both use embossing folders.  Which is your favorite?

These cards were inspired by Stampin' Up! demonstrator Jill Hillard.

Tea and Crumb Cake

This is the third card I made using violets, and perhaps my favorite of them all.  I did "fussy cut" the teacup after stamping, meaning I cut it out by hand which takes a little bit of time, but I love the final look.

Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake,  Whisper White
Other:  Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Labels Collection Framelits, Dimensionals

Bordering on Romance

This is the second card I made as a request for the teacher who wanted some cards using violets.  I used the Blender Pen to create the watercolor effect.  While closed, lightly squeeze the top of your ink pad together.  Then open, and you will see the surface of the pad left ink on the inside of the lid.  You can use that ink with your blender pen to create light and dark variations of the same color.

Stamps:  Bordering on Romance, Lacy and Lovely
Ink:  Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi
Paper:  Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Regals Collection DSP
Other:  Large Oval Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Blender Pen
